Our Current Needs

New or Gently Used Shoes

We have an ongoing need for athletic shoes for both boys and girls.  We need all sizes from youth through adult.  Specifically sizes 9-5 elementary and 6-13 adult.  Several charitable organizations have specifically targeted shoe collections these past few months, but the growing number of children we support are in constant need of new footwear.  Currently we have a shortage of boys and girls elementary sizes 13-4 and boys high school size 7.

In preparation for the Back to School Bash (click here for more info), we are collecting shoes specifically for that event.  Every year we run through our inventory at the Bash since the need is so great.  If you our your organization can help with this effort, please click here for more information.  Thank you!

Volunteers

Kids’ Needs volunteers are active throughout the year.  Currently, we are in need of drivers to collect donations from local business supporters and volunteers to work as a group within the Kids’ Needs storefront in the Englewood Center on South Indiana Avenue in Englewood.  Please click here or email us at info@kidsneedsenglewood.org for further information.

Formal Wear for the Prom

Kids Needs, in conjunction with Spread Spencer’s Sparkle, have joined together to help high school juniors and seniors with the cost of prom and graduation. Both of these events are important rights of passage that no high school child should have to miss because of lack of funds. While Spread Spencer’s Sparkle helps cover the cost of admission, and event charges, Kids Needs provides formal wear and graduation packages to those that have been identified by the school to be in need of assistance.

Clothing

We desperately need all sizes boys shorts and t-shirts to what is already there. We also  need shoes, pants, jeans, and shorts for elementary school boys and shorts, tops, pants, jeans, jackets, and sweatshirts for elementary-age girls.  No tank tops, printed t-shirts, swimwear, or pajamas, please.

Socks and Underwear

Unlike other donated items, socks and underwear must be new and unused.

We need all sizes for both boys and girls, from elementary school through high school.  Boys’ underwear should be boxer-briefs. Girls underwear should be briefs, hipsters or boy shorts. No bikini please!

Socks should be either low-cut or “no show” styles, black preferred.

School Uniforms

Vineland Elementary School and Sky Academy students have been required to wear uniforms for the past few years.  Purchasing a school uniform can be a real hardship for a needy family.  If you have children who attended Vineland or Sky Academy and who perhaps have graduated or otherwise outgrown their uniforms, please consider donating those uniforms to Kids’ Needs.  We will see that they go to another Vineland student in need.
